Policy Manager to Global Executive Director
POLICY MANAGER TO GLOBAL EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR (GED),
Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL),
works closely with the GED to deliver worldwide responsibilities and execute J-PAL’s global strategy, aiming to reduce poverty by informing policy with scientific evidence. Anchored by a network of over a thousand affiliated and invited researchers at universities globally, J-PAL conducts randomized impact evaluations to address critical questions in the fight against poverty. The Global Executive Director (GED) of J-PAL— Iqbal Dhaliwal —helps formulate and implement J-PAL’s worldwide strategy and organization-wide policies, communicates J-PAL’s mission and achievements to external partners, and coordinates operations and fundraising. The GED works closely with the directors of J-PAL’s four verticals (Policy and Communications; Research, Education, and Training; Finance and Operations; and Evidence to Scale) as well as with senior leadership of regional and country offices worldwide. As a key representative of J-PAL to external stakeholders, the GED manages a complex set of projects, travel, and relations.
