Software Development Engineer, Kuiper Government Solutions
Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites providing low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity worldwide.
This role involves designing, building, and maintaining APIs and interfaces to connect Kuiper capabilities with US Government customers such as NASA, DoD, and other National Security agencies. You will develop software services for space safety and sustainability applications, ensuring rapid, reliable coordination with external systems.
Key responsibilities include:
Utilizing network topology knowledge and Software Defined Networking experience to develop APIs for the Kuiper network team. Demonstrating interface capabilities in test environments. Solving complex technical problems for government customers within a multidisciplinary team. Leading teams to develop and deliver software and interface requirements. Ensuring systems meet performance, security, and interoperability standards. Communicating project status, risks, and issues effectively. Escalating issues and driving resolutions. Documenting and visualizing results for multi-disciplinary teams. The position is based in Redmond, WA, with US relocation benefits. 3+ years of professional software development experience. 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture. Proficiency in at least one programming language. Preferred Qualifications
