ABOUT THE POSITION VHB is looking to hire an Environmental Engineer in its growing Site Investigation & Remediation team. The role could be based in either our Boston, MA or Providence, RI office. Manage multiple projects concurrently in a team environment across various stages of development. Guide, support, and mentor junior engineers on engineering designs, soil/groundwater/soil vapor remediation, field procedures, monitoring well installation, construction oversight, and more. Draft proposals, develop budgets, review invoices, and maintain clear communication with clients. Develop comprehensive remedial plans, specifications, drawings, instructions, and cost assessments. Design remedial systems for groundwater treatment, vapor intrusion mitigation, and related challenges. Author, review, and QC technical documents. Manage time effectively to produce high-quality deliverables for clients. Skills & Abilities

Strong understanding of MassDEP environmental regulations and related guidance documents pertaining to spill assessment and cleanup, hazardous waste, etc. Experience in other New England states is a plus. Interest or experience in Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plan review, sub-slab depressurization system (SSDS) design, and applicable regulations is a plus. Highly motivated with strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a collaborative team-oriented mindset. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to produce high-quality reports and perform detailed reviews. Active involvement in professional organizations and a commitment to continuous professional development. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering. Master’s degree preferred. 5-8 years of experience in environmental/remediation consulting. EIT license and/or Professional Engineer (PE) preferred. OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certificate with a current 8-hour HAZWOPER Refresher.
