We are seeking an experienced and strategic Associate Director with a strong background in public accounting, US GAAP advisory, and global delivery operations. This role offers the opportunity to lead high-impact technical accounting projects, collaborate with global teams, and contribute to business growth across a diverse client portfolio. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of US GAAP, a strong record in client relationship management, and experience working with or managing global delivery centers. This is a leadership role that blends technical accounting acumen with business strategy and team development.
Key Responsibilities
- US GAAP & Technical Accounting: Provide expert guidance on US GAAP standards, including ASC 606 (Revenue), ASC 842 (Leases), ASC 805 (Business Combinations), ASC 480, and ASC 815. Lead implementation of new accounting standards and address complex financial reporting challenges. Develop and review accounting policies, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.
- Global Delivery Operations: Collaborate with global delivery centers to optimize performance, reduce costs, and meet client expectations. Define and monitor SLAs and quality metrics across offshore teams. Drive consistency, training, and alignment between global and onshore resources.
- Client Engagement & Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow the client portfolio. Develop customized proposals and lead presentations for high-value engagements. Serve as a strategic advisor to clients, offering insights on financial reporting, compliance, and business impact.
- Financial Reporting & Compliance: Oversee preparation and review of US GAAP and SEC-compliant financial statements. Advise clients through regulatory audits, reporting transitions, and financial transactions (e.g., M&A, restructuring). Ensure accurate interpretation of regulatory changes and technical implications.
- Internal Controls & Risk Management: Design and evaluate ICFR, supporting SOX and other compliance frameworks. Conduct risk assessments and recommend process improvements to strengthen internal control environments.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor cross-functional teams across regions and time zones. Foster collaboration between offshore and onshore teams for seamless service delivery. Deliver training on technical accounting standards and global delivery best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA required; CFA, CIA, or CISA preferred
- Minimum 8+ years in public accounting or consulting
- At least 3+ years in a leadership role focused on US GAAP advisory, financial reporting, and global team management
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and client relationship skills
- Experience with global delivery center operations is highly preferred
