This role requires someone who understands the nuances of project-based revenue, client billing, and expense tracking in a creative services environment. Job Description Position Overview The Accounting Manager will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the agency, ensuring accurate financial reporting, budget management, and compliance with accounting standards. This role requires someone who understands the nuances of project-based revenue, client billing, and expense tracking in a creative services environment. Key Responsibilities Manage and oversee daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports Lead the monthly close process and ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data Collaborate with project managers and client services teams to track project budgets, profitability, and billings Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff Manage client billing cycles, ensure timely invoicing and collections Monitor cash flow and provide forecasts to senior leadership Assist in developing and monitoring annual budgets and forecasts Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable tax regulations Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals Recommend and implement process improvements and financial controls Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred) 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role Experience in the advertising, marketing, media, or related project-based industry strongly preferred Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar), and Microsoft Excel Familiarity with project management and billing tools commonly used in creative agencies (e.g., Workamajig, Function Point, or similar) Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Seniority level Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Employment type Full-time Job function Job function Accounting/Auditing and Finance Industries Staffing and Recruiting Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at 24 Seven Talent by 2x Get notified about new Accounting Manager jobs in Los Angeles, CA .
