Overview: We are seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Specialist with a strong background in asset management, threat detection, and vulnerability management. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience working with both IT and OT tools with asset and network discovery features, as well as expertise in automation scripting and IT network fundamentals. Location: Onsite - Saint Paul, MN (must be local)
Responsibilities: Asset Management: Maintain and manage asset inventories, ensuring all network-connected devices are accurately tracked and monitored for security vulnerabilities.
Threat Detection: Implement and manage threat detection systems to identify, respond to, and mitigate cybersecurity threats across IT and OT environments.
Vulnerability Management: Identify, assess, and prioritize vulnerabilities in systems and networks, and ensure timely patching or remediation efforts.
Network Discovery & Monitoring: Work with tools such as PRTG, SolarWinds, Nagios, Lansweeper, Dragos, Nozomi, ClarOTy, Forescout, and Armis to conduct asset and network discovery, ensuring accurate visibility across the network.
Automation Scripting: Develop and deploy automation scripts (Python preferred but open to other languages) to streamline security processes, enhance monitoring, and improve incident response.
Security Reporting & Documentation: Generate regular reports on asset management, security incidents, and vulnerability assessments. Document processes and procedures for compliance and operational efficiency.
Collaboration & Incident Response: Collaborate with IT and OT teams to respond to incidents, implement security measures, and ensure the organization’s cybersecurity posture remains robust.
Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats, technologies, and best practices, and recommend improvements to security tools and strategies.
Required Qualifications: Experience: 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on asset management, threat detection, and vulnerability management.
Tools & Technologies: Hands-on experience with IT or OT tools with asset and network discovery features (e.g., PRTG, SolarWinds, Nagios, Lansweeper, Dragos, Nozomi, ClarOTy, Forescout, Armis).
Automation Scripting: Experience with automation scripting, with proficiency in Python preferred. Open to other languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or others.
Network Fundamentals: Strong understanding of IT network fundamentals, including TCP/IP, firewalls, switches, routers, and network protocols.
Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly assess, prioritize, and resolve security issues in complex environments.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications: Security Certifications: Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ are a plus.
IT/OT Integration: Experience with IT and OT convergence and securing industrial control systems (ICS) is a plus.
Cloud Security: Familiarity with cloud security best practices and tools (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
Security Monitoring Platforms: Experience with SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) platforms or other advanced monitoring systems is a plus.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Preferred Experience: Experience working in a regulated industry (e.g., manufacturing, energy, healthcare) is a plus.
