Overview At Baby's Space, a Minneapolis-based nonprofit, we are dedicated to providing equitable, high-quality childcare tailored to each child’s unique needs. We are expanding our team and seeking passionate Lead Teachers to provide consistent, compassionate care and play a key role in supporting each child’s developmental journey.
Requirements You absolutely must love children , and be willing to get low, show compassion and see things from the child\'s point-of-view.
Responsibilities Develop and implement daily activities that promote the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of children.
Lead and manage a classroom, ensuring a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment.
Build positive, supportive relationships with children and maintain regular communication with their full circle of care (families and caregivers).
Ensure compliance with state licensing requirements and organizational policies.
Participate in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices in early childhood education.
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive and supportive team environment.
Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old.
One of the following educational and experience pathways is required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field, plus at least 1,040 hours of experience working with young children in a licensed program.
Two-Year Degree or Certificate in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, plus 1,040 hours of experience in a licensed program.
Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential , plus 1,560 hours of experience in a licensed early childhood program.
High School Diploma or GED , plus 4,160 hours of experience in a licensed early childhood program and 24 quarter credits in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
Additional Qualifications:
A strong understanding of early childhood education best practices, including relationship-based care and a commitment to supporting children’s emotional, physical, and developmental growth.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including engaging in activities with children and ensuring a safe environment.
Passion for working with children and families in a mission-driven, community-focused environment.
Compensation: $22+ per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
