Job Details Start: August 21, 2025 Monday-Friday Grades K-2nd ESN (Extensive Support Needs) population Caseload: 8 Location: San Jose, CA Pay dependent on experience but starting at $50/hr Qualifications Master's degree in Special Education from an accredited institution Valid state license or certification for Extensive Support Needs Education Specialist Demonstrated experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting, with a strong emphasis on supporting those with special needs Responsibilities As a Special Education Teacher with Birch Agency, you will: Provide direct/group instructions to students with disabilities Develop lesson plans/instructional material to meet needs of student’s IEP Conduct educational assessments Attend IEP meetings Assist in planning and development of IEP Facilitate implementation of special education services Collaborate with other members who are part of the special education team Employ a variety of teaching styles to respond to needs of diverse learners Effectively communicate with parents/caregivers and staff to support student’s academic success Modify traditional education curriculum to meet student’s needs Ensure appropriate accommodations are available for classroom instruction and testing Employ techniques for positive behavioral support Assist in the collection of data for providing appropriate classroom interventions Benefits Competitive compensation package with benefits including health and dental insurance 401(k) matching Paid time off Relocation assistance (if applicable) Access to a supportive network of peers and mentors within Birch Agency ***Only candidates who are eligible to work in the US without sponsorship will be considered for the position*** Please contact Andrew Sanchez if you qualify and would like to be considered for the opportunity.
