Are you a dynamic HR professional looking to make a significant impact in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We are seeking an experienced Human Resource Manager to lead our HR initiatives at our Shreveport, LA, plant. In this pivotal role, you will provide strategic leadership and manage all aspects of human resource programs, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and fostering a positive workplace culture.
What You’ll Do:
Lead HR Programs:Oversee all plant human resource programs related to employment, diversity recruitment, organizational development, training, employee relations, public relations, and wage and salary administration, ensuring compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations.
Manage Labor Relations:Take charge of all plant labor relations activities, including grievance settlement and plant investigations, while promoting positive labor relations with employees and union leadership.
Recruitment and Staffing:Direct recruiting and interviewing activities for all plant disciplines to ensure adequate staffing that meets operational needs.
Benefits Administration:Oversee the administration of the benefits program and manage the new hire orientation process, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for all employees.
People Development:Lead the WCM People Development Pillar, focusing on employee growth and development initiatives.
Policy Development:Develop and implement plant-level HR policies and procedures in collaboration with the Plant Manager to enhance operational efficiency.
Succession Planning:Submit an annual Succession Plan to ensure critical positions are staffed with a promote-from-within philosophy when appropriate.
Labor Management Meetings:Officiate monthly labor management meetings to stay attuned to the plant's labor relations climate and address any concerns proactively.
Team Leadership:Provide oversight and direct supervision of the HR/Payroll Coordinator, fostering a collaborative and effective HR team.
IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
- Educational Background:Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, labor relations, or a related field.
- Experience:3-5 years of managerial experience leading a Human Resource department in a fast-paced, unionized manufacturing environment.
- Communication Skills:Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with all levels of the organization.
