Position Summary The Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Valley Hospital Medical Center, located in Las Vegas, NV, will provide day‑to‑day operations of the hospital, implement CEO strategy, and manage hospital departments to maximize quality of services and profitability.

Responsibilities

Direct effective quality operations to maximize return on investment and community reputation.

Increase revenues and income, maintain or decrease effective bad debt rate, achieve margin percentage, and implement operating cost controls in staffing, supplies and purchased services.

Develop and provide quality programs and services to the community and manage employee commitment to quality and service.

Motivate employees through coaching, feedback and commitment building to achieve highest performance.

Communicate with employees and vendors and manage multiple diverse departments.

Qualifications

Five years of hospital experience with a minimum of two to three years as a senior level manager.

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Business, Health Administration or related field.

Organized and able to manage multiple diverse departments.

Detail oriented, focus on nuances of multiple hospital operations, and able to motivate, inspire and communicate with individuals and groups.

Knowledge of financial implications of decisions including budgeting and forecasting required.
