Maintain the fuel center and kiosk, monitor gas levels and deliveries, complete customer transactions accurately, and ensure pumps and fuel areas remain clean for a safe and sanitary environment. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Ensure correct checkout totals for customers by properly keying and scanning items and maintain accurate money count in register at all times. Monitor, report, and take action regarding suspicious activities, illegal devices, emergencies, fires, and fuel spills to maintain a safe fuel center. Inspect fuel pumps, ensure proper seals are in place, and maintain hazard-free conditions. Answer telephone calls and transfer calls to appropriate store personnel. Remain current on tender policies and procedures related to checks, credit, debit, coupons, EBT, AML, and lottery. Identify needed parking lot maintenance and communicate incidents, actions, or concerns to management. Generate end-of-shift or day reports, monitor product levels, and restock or inform store management of necessary reordering. Maintain a friendly customer service-oriented attitude by greeting customers, answering questions, and responding to complaints; assist customers with concerns regarding gas pumps and selecting desired products. Adhere to Company safety procedures, clean around gas pumps and in/around kiosk, empty trash cans, and spot clean spills and breakages. Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws regarding sales of restricted items such as tobacco and cannabis-based products. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Count and calculate for cash handling and sales transactions. Effectively communicate with customers and partners in written and verbal form. Work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays. Attend to potential hazards and remedy or place warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as reasonably possible; report any hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor. Education, Experience and Qualifications
Minimum of 16 years of age required. 21 years of age or older required to drive for Company business in accordance with BGC Business Driver Policy. TABC/LACT certification required where applicable. Fuel Operator C training required. Typically involves on-the-job training. Physical Demands
Continuously required to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception or the ability to focus. Frequently required to sit for long periods of time. Frequently required to talk and hear. Frequently required to use hands for reaching, touching or handling. Occasionally required to manipulate objects by hand and use fine finger movements. Occasionally required to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 40 lbs. Occasionally required to bend, kneel or squat. Occasionally required to stand or walk. Attendance at work is required. Work is generally performed in a fuel center. Frequently exposed to outside temperatures and weather. Occasionally exposed to wet, slippery or damp conditions.
