Position Overview
We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Chief Financial Officer to oversee the financial management, strategic planning, and growth initiatives of our restaurant franchisor organization. The CFO will play a critical leadership role in shaping financial strategy, managing franchise development economics, optimizing operational profitability, and ensuring fiscal health across the franchise system.
This position requires a dynamic leader who understands both
restaurant unit-level economics
and
franchise system finance , with the ability to scale financial systems and reporting as the company expands nationally and internationally.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Financial Leadership
Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, partnering with the CEO and Board to shape long-term business strategy.
Develop and execute financial plans that support company growth, franchise expansion, and operational excellence.
Provide financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic insights to guide business decisions, acquisitions, and franchise development.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
Lead financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis across both corporate and franchised operations.
Establish KPIs for monitoring unit-level performance and franchisee profitability.
Evaluate new store openings, remodel ROI, and long-term capital planning.
Accounting & Compliance
Oversee accounting functions including month-end close, audits, and tax compliance.
Ensure accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Maintain financial controls and compliance with federal, state, and franchise disclosure regulations (FDD compliance).
Franchise Finance & Development Support
Partner with Franchise Development to evaluate new franchise candidates, financing models, and capital structures.
Support franchisees with guidance on P&L management, cash flow forecasting, and financial best practices.
Implement tools to benchmark and report franchisee performance metrics.
Capital Management & Investor Relations
Manage relationships with lenders, investors, and financial institutions.
Optimize capital structure and financing strategies to support growth and acquisitions.
Lead capital raise efforts (equity, debt, or private equity) as needed.
Team Leadership
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team.
Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and collaboration across departments.
Drive digital transformation and automation across financial systems for scalability.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance or CFO role.
Background in
restaurant, hospitality, or franchise organizations
strongly preferred.
Proven experience managing multi-unit P&L, franchise financial models, and royalty structures.
Strong analytical, strategic, and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent leadership, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration abilities.
