Data Analytics & Management, VP III - State Street Investment Management
State Street Investment Management Data, Analytics & AI Services (DAAIS) team is seeking a highly accomplished Principal Data and Analytics Engineer, Vice President to join our Boston office. This senior role drives the delivery of advanced data and analytics solutions that support our investment management business.
Responsibilities
Lead an agile engineering team to deliver innovative solutions that address evolving business and client requirements.
Collaborate with global teams to execute cross-border projects and continuously enhance best practices in data solutions and analytical modeling.
Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and high performance.
Conduct market and feature analysis, feature engineering, financial model design, coding, unit testing, integration, and model validation.
Oversee data sourcing, ingestion, cleansing, transformation, and analytics for both structured and unstructured data, leveraging AI technologies.
Pioneer the design and development of data agents using agentic AI frameworks.
Skills And Qualifications
Master’s degree in financial engineering, computer science, or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in the financial services industry.
At least 8 years of experience in feature analysis, engineering for analytical models, and data pipeline development.
Proficiency in modern data management tools (e.g., Databricks) and programming languages (Python, SQL); familiarity with AI code generation tools such as GitHub Copilot.
Minimum 4 years of experience working with unstructured data (e.g., 13F filings, news, social media).
Demonstrated expertise in product research, risk management, market movement analysis, sentiment analysis, security or factor-based investment strategies, cash flow analysis, or algorithmic trading.
Knowledge of basic machine learning modeling techniques for training and inference.
Familiarity with financial instruments, reference data, market data, investment, and risk management concepts.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across multiple countries.
Results‑driven, detail‑oriented, and candid in approach.
Any Of The Following Is Highly Desirable
Prior experience in a data engineering or analytics role within a financial institution.
Experience with structured and unstructured data management tools (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, document management systems).
Completion of CFA Level II, FRM, or equivalent certification.
Salary Range $140,000 - $222,500 Annual
