The Opportunity:
The Global Brand Team (GBT) Finance team is seeking an energetic, collaborative and self-motivated Finance Manager to join the team at its Corporate Headquarters in El Segundo, CA to help support our in-licensing responsibilities. This position will report to the Director of Finance and provide an opportunity to work with cross-functional teams within the GBT and across total Mattel.
What Your Impact Will Be:
Perform and manage key financial analysis to assess profitability of licensed opportunities, including pro forma P‘Ls and deal performance tracking
Manage quarterly licensor forecasting in collaboration with Commercial In-Licensing and Marketing teams
Review and approve in-licensing CAS and royalty payments, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance
Oversee portions of royalty accounting, including shortfalls, prepaid write-offs, audits, and relief assessments
Provide financial direction to brand teams that allow us to achieve profitability targets
Represent the finance point-of-view at cross-functional meetings with design, marketing, sales, and other functions as we develop toy lines for future years with current and new licensors
Manage SG&A budgets for in-licensing business
Support any other ad-hoc financial and strategic analysis related to key business unit initiatives
Manage a team with 2 direct reports, and provide guidance to broader in-licensing and brand finance organization
Qualifications: What We’re Looking For:
BA/BS in Finance or related studies preferred or equivalent work experience
5+ years of work experience
Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel proficiency a plus)
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload
High degree of initiative, drive, confidence, and resilience – ability to develop the team against a multi-year agenda
Flexible and teamwork oriented
Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.
*The pay range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base pay will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
