Lead Healthcare Architect

Lead Healthcare Architect (Direct Hire) – Hybrid in Palo Alto, California. Remote (monthly travel) is available.
W2 only, no C2C. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (now and in the future).
What You’ll Do
Define and maintain the architectural vision and strategy for deploying SaaS or on‑prem solutions across healthcare systems.
Collaborate with stakeholders—including healthcare providers, IT teams, and business leaders—to gather requirements and deliver scalable designs.
Translate business needs into technical specifications and architectural roadmaps aligned with strategic objectives.
Lead architectural reviews, ensuring adherence to industry best practices, security standards, and regulatory compliance such as HIPAA and HL7.
Act as a subject matter expert in clinical EHR workflows and healthcare interoperability standards, including SMART on FHIR, FHIR, HL7, DICOM, and ICD‑10.
Drive integration using tools like Cloverleaf, Rhapsody, and Redox, and support data reporting through Epic Reporting Workbench, Clarity, and dashboards.
Evaluate and design interoperability solutions in collaboration with business owners and technical teams.
Conduct system gap analyses, risk assessments, and propose mitigations during implementation of imaging systems and clinical applications.
Support and transition completed projects to appropriate operational teams, ensuring SLAs are met.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree required.
8+ years of experience with EMR/EHRs, including EpicCare Ambulatory workflows; Cerner experience preferred.
Epic Bridges Certification or equivalent Epic system certification preferred, but not required.
Deep understanding of clinical data exchange formats and integration engines.
Proficiency in SQL, Python, and familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and microservices architecture.
Experience with Epic and non‑Epic applications, including clinical data integration and interoperability standards.
Strong project management, time management, and communication skills with the ability to lead medium to large, complex projects.
Ability to travel to client facilities as needed.
