Personnel Security Specialist Location: Remote

Personnel Security Specialist reviews investigation request documentation for accuracy and completeness and processes e-QIP packets for federal and contractor employees. They initiate the paperwork for background investigations, review the information submitted by the applicants, correspond with the applicants for clarifying information, responsible for data entry requirements associated with each record, making case files, forwarding cases for processing, and submits the e-QIP packet to be reviewed and forwarded to OPM.

Key Responsibilities

Review applicant completed eQIP forms and related forms for initiation of background investigations.

Assist applicants with corrective action concerning completion/submission of personnel security documents.

Assist customers with eQIP submissions, perform applicable entries into the Office of Security and Strategic Information (OSSI) personnel security database, schedule fingerprint appointments if required, other clerical duties as required.

Track personnel security documents to ensure accurate processing.

Mail documents and perform basic customer service administrative functions when applicable.

Qualifications

Two (2) years of experience processing and reviewing eQIP applications and providing customer service in a government personnel security office environment.

Experience with initiating SF-85s and/or SF-86s through eQIP system.

Knowledgeable of OPM processing and requirements for submission of eQIP.

Proficient in Microsoft applications.
