Position The Department of Emergency Medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital is recruiting a full-time Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician to join our dedicated team of ten vibrant and collegial PEM attendings. Candidates must be

board-certified or board-eligible

in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.

Location NewYork-Presbyterian/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, located in Park Slope, Brooklyn, is a level 2 ACS trauma center, stroke center with thrombectomy capability, STEMI/cath center, and SAFE-designated center with 651 beds, academically affiliated with Weill Cornell Medicine.

Department Overview The Department of Emergency Medicine sees approximately 100,000 patients per year in its adult and pediatric emergency departments. We have an established emergency medicine residency program with thirty-nine total residents, a pediatric emergency medicine fellowship with six fellows, and an emergency ultrasound fellowship with five fellows per year.

Division and Volume Our division, within the department of Emergency Medicine, consists of a separate 13-bedded unit, additional asthma chairs, a pediatric resuscitation bay, separate pediatric triage and waiting areas, as well as a 'Safe Harbor' room designed for neurodivergent patients. Our current volume is approximately 18,000 pediatric visits per year.

Staffing and Support Our robust staffing model includes single and double attending coverage, supported by advanced practice provider coverage throughout the day. We have exceptional support from our dedicated pediatric nursing staff, child life specialists, and access to pediatric subspecialties and a 6-bed PICU, allowing us to care for the majority of our patients locally.

Compensation The salary range for this position is $245,000-$290,000. This compensation range does not include our amazing benefits and any incentive payments, based on quality measures and productivity, which may be applicable to this role.

Academic Appointment The selected candidate will hold an academic appointment at Weill Cornell Medical College. Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and credentials.
