Job Summary The Sr IR Analyst supports the company’s investor relations and treasury functions by helping with financial analysis, market intelligence, strategic insights, news releases, earnings conference call slides and scripts and investor meetings. They will work collaboratively in cross-functional teams with the executive leadership team and supporting roles on messaging strategy, alignment and accuracy while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.

The Sr IR Analyst will work in our Houston Corporate office and may work up to two (2) days a week remotely, as business needs allow. This role reports to VP, IR and Treasurer.

Responsibilities

Monitor analyst reports, market trends, and peer performance to inform IR strategy

Responsible for preparation of news releases, investor presentations, quarterly earnings conference call slides and scripts, and participation in investor meetings in collaboration with the Investor Relations team

Manage relationships with sell-side analysts, institutional investors, financial media and retail shareholders

Monitor company, peer and industry performance and trends relating to investor relations

Support the IR team in developing board presentations, employee town halls, special projects, and conference and roadshow schedules

Support liquidity planning and working capital optimization

Build and manage company and peer valuation models, as well as monitor and analyze sell-side models

Support Corporate Finance and Debt and Equity Capital market transactions

Perform any other related duties as required or assigned

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in finance or technical related discipline

Minimum 10 years’ progressive experience in investor relations, corporate finance, or corporate or commercial lending, preferably within the oil and natural gas sector

Strong understanding of the financial modeling techniques used by sell-side analysts to project a company’s operating and financial performance and the resulting value for stock

Proven experience writing financial communication documents

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.

Ability to conceptualize extensive abstract and concrete information while applying critical thinking skills

Strong written and presentation skills, with a high degree of accuracy in disclosures

Ability to travel when required

Experienced in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams

Ability to respect confidentiality of the information exposed to in the role

Ability to work in a collaborative team as well as independently

Ability to uphold exceptional judgement, discretion and integrity

Ability to manage several time-sensitive projects simultaneously and with necessary urgency

The individual is required to follow all applicable safety precautions. Work is performed almost entirely in a controlled (i.e., inside) environment and does not typically subject the incumbent to any hazardous/extreme elements; some positions may require regularly moving or transporting items weighing up to 25 lbs. around the office for various needs. The successful candidate must be able to complete all essential physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

MBA, CFA or comparable post-graduate degree is highly desired

Knowledge of investor relations, treasury, capital markets, and oil and gas industry

At least 5 years of experience working for and/or preferred with a publicly traded energy company, preferably upstream, that has global operations

Experience with Bloomberg, FactSet, IR Insights and other financial reporting systems
