Responsibilities
Oversee inventory costing and related accounting activities
Ensure accurate setup and updates of costing data
Develop processes for monitoring inventory completeness and accuracy
Review transfers between locations for proper costing treatment
Maintain policies for inventory revaluations and cost updates
Partner with teams on accounting for product changes
Reconcile inventory systems with the general ledger
Manage accounting for freight, tariffs, and in‑transit inventory
Review landed costs and ensure accuracy in reporting
Oversee the calculation of reserves for excess and obsolete inventory
Reconcile inventory‑related accounts and resolve discrepancies
Analyze the cost of goods sold variances and trends
Prepare reports on inventory balances and related metrics
Track cycle counts and other adjustments by location
Provide additional inventory reporting and analysis as needed
Serve as a key resource for inventory systems and processes
Support acquisitions and system implementations involving inventory
Act as subject matter expert for system testing
Oversee accounting tasks for site transitions or closures
Partner with teams on negative margin sales resolution
Direct and support the work of staff accountants
Assist with special projects and other assigned tasks
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
5+ years of inventory and cost accounting experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $125,000–$140,000
This role is also eligible for various benefits, including: Medical Insurance
Actual base salary will be determined based on an individual's experience, skills, education, certifications, credentials, special skills, accomplishments, and other factors relevant to the position.
This role is based in the Twin Cities. Applicants must currently reside in Minnesota or are planning to relocate to Minnesota in the near future.
