Responsibilities

Experience providing medical care in family practice, geriatric & young adult populations.

Experience working w/ mentally ill populations; Familiarity w/ rules, regulations & professional standards governing treatment of mentally ill clients.

Interest & ability to provide care for a chronic population w/ multiple medical & psych problems.

Duties:

Work alongside a knowledgeable & welcoming care team; Minimal procedures with OP-level primary care expectations.

Perform routine H&Ps for every new admission; Assess & manage medical conditions, including acute complaints & chronic illnesses.

Complete Treatment Plan goals for medical care; Consult with psychiatric providers regarding co-occurring psychiatric & medical conditions.

Prescribe, monitor & evaluate results of prescribed medications.

Order & interpret lab tests as required; Provide substance withdrawal mgmt. as needed.

Accurately & appropriately document medical care provided; Implement antimicrobial stewardship practices; Perform other duties as assigned.

Beds in the Dept: Each floor has 35 beds; provider is responsible for 1 floor (2 floors total)

EMR: Epic

Other Info: IP psychiatric setting with manageable patient volume.

Requirements

Active WA License

BC/BE

DEA

BLS (AHA/Red Cross)

Must be comfortable working on an IP psychiatric unit.

Need a Primary Care provider to provide Primary Care services in a psychiatric hospital setting.
