Industrial Engineers

to join the

Boeing Portland Industrial Engineering team

located in

Portland, Oregon, USA .

Position Overview The Industrial Engineering (IE) team supports fabrication and assembly for current and next generation aircraft. Partner with members in Operations, Quality, Engineering, and other business units to increase production stability and achieve organizational goals.

Apply industrial engineering concepts to product, process, and services to meet program requirements of moderate complexity.

Design, develop, analyze, test, evaluate, and implement processes and technology insertions to optimize production system design and operational efficiency.

Monitor performance and support production and systems to meet operational and functional requirements.

Translate engineering, systems, and mathematical concepts to practical applications throughout the product life cycle.

Research emerging technologies and develop industrial engineering tools and processes.

Ensure compliance with established industry safety, design standards, and ergonomic guidelines.

Support the evaluation of new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and service operations.

Develop moderately complex models, databases, and spreadsheets to analyze data and provide summary analysis and metrics for consultation to leaders.

Assist with research, design, development, improvement, and implementation of processes and tools to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality for large scale systems integration and asset utilization.

Lead metrics, data analysis, and improvement plans related to our team's productivity, efficiency, and first‑time quality, including Lean+ events, 5S improvement plans, and special initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited institution.

1 or more years of experience defining, developing, implementing, or improving production processes.

1 or more years of experience working in an engineering, manufacturing, and/or production environment.

1 or more years of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

3 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skilled in effective time management, communication, and organizational skills.

1 or more years of experience working in a team environment.

1 or more years of experience working with Lean Manufacturing and knowledge of lean principles.

Experience developing and deploying standard processes.

Proficient in structured problem solving.

Union Representation This is a union‑represented position. Applicable collective bargaining agreement terms apply.

Shift 1st shift with some collaboration possible between 2nd and 3rd shift.
