Preconstruction Manager - Food & Beverage Manufacturing

Job Responsibilities
Pre-Estimate: Participate in design review meetings, review and monitor scope, cost, and constructability during design development, and lead Estimate Plan meetings to develop a clear strategy and expectations.
Estimate Development: Lead a team of estimators, compile multidisciplinary work products into a single estimate, manage RFI lists, track milestone dates, and ensure compliance with RFP documents. Lead estimate review meetings and coordinate with marketing for formal proposal inclusion.
Subcontractor Management: Build and maintain subcontractor relationships, receive at least three quotes per bid package, manage subcontractor/vendor bid lists, and conduct subcontractor analysis. Organize scope review meetings and lead bid package development.
Post Estimate: Submit the project budget to accounting, assist in subcontractor selection, compile scope-of-work documents, and capture lessons learned for preconstruction projects.
Database Maintenance: Maintain preferred subcontractor, bid forms, cost history, and estimating databases.
Training: Train Preconstruction Specialists and aid in developing the training program.
Travel: Attend bid walks, attend conferences, and travel 5‑20% of time.
Qualifications
Proven experience managing preconstruction for large‑scale food, beverage, and consumer manufacturing projects.
In‑depth knowledge of construction principles and practices.
Experience with subcontracts, subcontractors, and self‑perform work.
Self‑starter with strong communication and presentation skills.
Ability to build trust, influence others, and travel internationally and domestically as required.
Demonstrates behaviors consistent with Haskell's core values.
Education / Experience
Bachelor of Science in a construction‑related curriculum (Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent).
7+ years of estimating experience.
