Job Summary Delivers occupational therapy services through the evaluation of patient needs, goal determination, and development of treatment plans according to the principles and practices of occupational therapy.

Primary Responsibilities

Performs occupational therapy services to patients in accordance with generally accepted occupational therapy standards, the Maryland State Board Practice, code of ethics, and departmental policies.

Conducts patient assessments and develops individualized treatment plan programs to promote health and participation in daily activities; sets long- and short-term objectives and adjusts programs as needed.

Records patient evaluations, re-evaluations, and care in the medical record per departmental documentation standards.

Communicates evaluation results, treatment plans, and referrals to patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.

Provides therapy education and counseling to individuals.

Mentors and trains clinical team members and students as needed.

Engages in performance improvement activities and proposes enhancements to colleagues.

Reports clinical and operational issues to leadership, assisting in resolution to ensure high-quality care and efficient operations.

Demonstrates interdisciplinary, patient-centered care and excellent customer service.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Master’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree accepted if licensed prior to 2008.

Experience in Pediatric Hospital and/or NICU setting preferred.

Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of Maryland.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Basic concepts of human development, pediatric feeding, and neuro-developmental care.

Ability to treat a small volume of patients at Midtown Campus Outpatient Rehab Clinic (1-2 patients/week).

Ability to access, review, and integrate information from a variety of sources to develop a treatment plan.

Strong verbal, written, and non-verbal communication skills.

Interpersonal skills to establish rapport with patients.

Collaboration with a diverse healthcare team.

Time management and prioritization.

Problem-solving and management of patient care.

Break down functional tasks to achieve patient-centered goals.

Effective communication with team members and patients.

Willingness to adapt availability to variable and changing needs.

Maintain confidentiality with patients and team members.

Proficiency in using medical and therapeutic equipment.

Compensation

Pay Range: $36.83-$55.29 per hour.
