Position Summary :
The District Pool Supervisor is a full-time experienced aquatic professional who manages all activities, schedules, and events at two aquatic facilities in a large suburban school district. Successful candidate must meet the requirements to sit for the District Pool Supervisor civil service exam. This is a 12 month position.
Supervisor :
Reports to the Assistant Superintendent for Business
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, Sports Management, Physical Education, or a related field
Minimum of five (5) years of aquatics management
Essential Responsibilities :
Supervise aquatic programs and staff for swim lessons, water exercise programs, patron relations, and special events at 2 district pools
Maintain staff certifications, work schedules, staff evaluations, and safety training
Coordinate daily facility operations of all aquatic facilities
Liaison to event hosts; ensures proper pool setup, functional equipment, and supervise event staff
Ensure pool safely in compliance with local and state health regulations
Maintain current Red Cross lifeguard and professionals rescuer, AED, Oxygen, and WSI certifications
Monitor pool chemistry in conjunction with custodian / facility CPOs
Willingness to pursue advanced certifications, lifeguard instructor trainer certification, WSI instructor trainer, AEA certification, and CPO certification
