Operational Risk Advisory Business Partner
to join its second line of defence.
This is a high-visibility role partnering directly with business units to shape and embed risk management across strategic initiatives, change activity, and day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will bring significant
Operational Risk expertise , with Credit Risk exposure considered an advantage.
Responsibilities
Work with business leads to assess material operational risks across BAU and change activity
Support and challenge risk assessments (RCSAs, scenarios, root cause analysis, etc.)
Help define and monitor risk appetite, KRIs, and thresholds
Identify and elevate risks outside appetite with actionable remediation
Advise on risks tied to strategic initiatives (M&A, new products, new ventures)
Review new business/change proposals and provide independent challenge
Assess adequacy of controls and policy frameworks
Identify control gaps and challenge remediation plans where needed
Events, Issues & Policy Breaches
Business Continuity & Crisis Management
Training & Culture
Qualifications
✅ 5+ years’ Operational Risk experience in a medium/large financial institution
✅ Capital Markets, Interdealer Brokerage or Energy & Commodities exposure strongly preferred
✅ Solid understanding of post-trade workflow, regulatory frameworks and risk models
✅ Strong communication skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders
✅ Analytical mindset and confident interpreting and presenting risk data
✅ Organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple priorities
✅ Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Business, Accounting etc.) and/or relevant certifications
Credit Risk experience would be considered a bonus.
