Job Summary As an Environmental Test Technician B, you will assist in the set up and execution of environmental tests including vibration testing, shock testing, thermal vacuum and thermal cycle testing. Work directly with the test conductor to perform the testing on space flight hardware. This role requires the ability to work first shift. This position's internal job code is Environmental Test Technician B. Our team is currently hiring for labor grade 15.
Responsibilities
Assist and execute environmental tests of space flight hardware using a variety of specialized equipment and tools, inclusive of electrodynamic shakers, thermal vacuum chambers, thermal cycling chambers, torque wrenches, adhesives, etc.
Assist in installation and operation of test instrumentation and other specialized test equipment, inclusive of accelerometers, thermocouples, etc.
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, assembly procedures, and test procedures, and follow the prescribed steps accordingly.
Work with engineering to define and refine standard operating procedures.
Record, prepare, organize, and deliver test data, run logs, and other relevant documentation for inclusion in final test reports.
Support initiatives to maintain safe operations, ensure product quality, reduce lead time/labor hours, etc. through environmental test.
Operate and capture data from test equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes, test racks, etc.).
Security Clearance This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Security Clearance Post-Start is required.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
6 months’ experience as a Test technician in aerospace or equivalent industry and/or Trade School training
Demonstrated exceptional attention to detail
Available to work shift or alternate work schedule when required
Experience using hand tools, repairing and troubleshooting electronic components
Mechanically and mathematically inclined
Knowledgeable about various computer operating systems and software
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years’ experience as a Test technician in aerospace or equivalent industry and/or Trade School training
Experience with thermal, vibration, EMI/EMC, shock, TVAC and/or acoustic testing
Experience working in 100,000 Class cleanrooms with ESD sensitive components
Experience working with test automation equipment (i.e. power supplies, DAQs, etc.)
Summary Pay-Range Labor Grade 15: $21.92-$32.36
Union This is an hourly position governed by the Labor Union Carpenters Local 721 Collective Bargaining agreement.
