Senior Payroll Specialist for a fantastic client company in Strongsville, Ohio!
The Senior Payroll Specialist requires expertise in UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) to lead payroll operations across our organization. This role is critical to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing while supporting strategic initiatives and system optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Lead full-cycle payroll processing for multi-state employees using UKG and Bullhorn platforms.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, tax laws, and internal policies.
Audit and maintain payroll records including timekeeping, deductions, benefits, and tax filings.
Receive, review and enter garnishment, child support, and lien information from agencies and courts.
Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT teams to ensure data accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Manage payroll system upgrades, testing, and implementation of new features.
Prepare payroll reports, journal entries, and reconciliations for accounting and audit purposes.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and taxes with professionalism.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives. Stay current with payroll legislation and system enhancements.
Qualifications
5+ years of payroll experience in a high-volume, multi-state environment.
Familiarity with HRIS systems and integrations.
Advanced proficiency in UKG; knowledge of Bullhorn desirable.
Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax compliance, and reporting standards.
Experience with payroll accounting and general ledger integration.
Proficiency in Microsoft products, specifically Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Location: Strongsville, Ohio. Salary: $65,000.00-$75,000.00.
