Baubap
Overview
As a
Senior Android Engineer
at Baubap, you’ll work cross-functionally to understand client needs and deliver reliable, scalable, and user-friendly solutions that empower users on their financial journey. You’ll also contribute to growing a strong engineering culture by mentoring peers and promoting code quality, maintainability, and security. You’ll lead the evolution of our
Mobile Core —introducing a
Server-Driven UI , creating a reusable
Component Library , and enabling platform capabilities that allow other teams to experiment quickly and safely. Your work will help transform our Android app into a product experimentation engine: reducing time to market, increasing team autonomy, and unlocking new revenue streams. Within your first year, we aim to
decrease time-to-release for mobile experiments
from 2 days to less than a day by evolving our architecture with Server-Driven UI and a reusable Component Library. When possible, we’ll bypass the Play Store entirely to accelerate experimentation, increase team autonomy, and turn mobile into a fast, reliable platform for product discovery. The expected outcome
Deliver High-Impact Features:
Create Android features that address customer needs and drive user engagement, enhancing our users' financial journey and contributing to product success. Faster and Safer Releases:
Implement CI/CD flows that streamline internal testing and reduce manual steps, enabling Play Store releases with minimal overhead. Lead the evolution of our
Mobile Core
through Server-Driven UI, reusable Component Library, and scalable architecture. Ensure a High-Performance App:
Maintain smooth application performance with crash-free sessions above 99.99% and fast response times. Continuous Improvement:
Identify and implement opportunities to enhance the app's efficiency, usability, and performance using data insights and user feedback. Support the Team:
Foster a culture of learning and innovation by sharing expertise and mentoring teammates. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals, creating seamless product experiences. The day to day tasks
Build and maintain Android features using
Kotlin ,
Jetpack Compose , and
Clean Architecture
(MVI/MVVM). Lead the evolution of our
Mobile Core
through Server-Driven UI, reusable Component Library, and scalable architecture. Monitor and optimize app performance and stability using profiling and crash analytics. Maintain comprehensive test coverage (unit/integration) to ensure code quality. Accelerate releases by enhancing our
CI/CD pipelines
and implementing
feature flags . Collaborate with product and design teams to create meaningful user experiences. Take full ownership of work from planning through implementation to release and monitoring. Mentor teammates and foster knowledge sharing across the team. Why YOU should apply
Android Development Experience:
5+ years of hands-on experience building and maintaining Android applications with Kotlin, preferably in a product-driven environment. Modern Android Frameworks:
Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flows, Play Services, Firebase features, Hilt, build variants, third-party SDKs, and MockK. Architecture:
Strong understanding of Clean Architecture principles, modularization, security, and both MVI and MVVM patterns. Testing:
Experience with unit testing, automated testing, and Firebase Test Lab. Version Control and CI/CD:
Proficiency with Git, version control practices, and CI/CD pipelines for maintaining code quality and streamlining deployments. API Integration:
Experience with RESTful APIs and integrating backend services into mobile applications. App Monitoring and Analytics:
Experience with tools for tracking application performance, user engagement, and crashes. What we can offer
