2 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants The Director of Fund Development and Donor Relations plans, manages, and executes initiatives that strengthen donor relationships and secure financial support for the Lake Area Free Clinic. This role requires a strong understanding of the Clinic’s mission and services, along with the ability to independently create and implement fundraising and stewardship strategies that: increase funding from individuals, foundations, federal and state government grants, and corporate partners; deepen donor engagement; and expand the Clinic’s capacity for long-term sustainability. The following are essential job accountabilities: · In collaboration with the Executive Director and Fundraising Committee, develop and implement an annual development plan to meet or exceed budget goals. · Research local, regional, and national foundations, corporations, government, and other funders; maintain a database of targets for solicitation. · Write compelling grant proposals and prepare required reports for funders. This position will also complete all invoicing and reimbursements related to grants, as well as track all grants digitally. · Organize and oversee individual giving campaigns, including appeal letters, donor mailings, and other engagement efforts that increase donor participation and average gift size. · Support the board of directors in building their capacity and confidence in donor cultivation and solicitation. Provide regular reporting on grants as well as fundraising dashboard to the board of directors. · Coordinate with committee and other staff regarding fundraising events to meet budget and timeline goals, ensuring high-quality donor experiences. · Build and sustain meaningful relationships with donors, volunteers, funders, and sponsors through consistent communication, recognition, and stewardship activities. · Coordination of the Advisory and Fundraising committees of the LAFC board. Donor Relations & Stewardship · Develop and implement strategies to improve donor retention and grow the donor base. · Management of the DonorSnap software as well as grant management within an electronic database. · Oversee the donor database to ensure accurate, timely recording of gifts and acknowledgments. · Create and maintain a comprehensive donor recognition and stewardship program, ensuring donors feel valued and connected to the Clinic’s mission. · Work with leadership and staff to identify opportunities for donor engagement through clinic tours, impact stories, volunteer opportunities, and special events. · Collaborate with staff to collect and share patient success stories that highlight the Clinic’s impact and inspire donor giving. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, marketing, communications, or related field, or equivalent experience. Preferred Experience: · Minimum 5 years of nonprofit development experience with proven fundraising success. · Demonstrated ability to prospect, cultivate, and manage donor relationships. · Proven track record of meeting or exceeding fundraising goals. · Extensive knowledge of federal and state grant writing and requirements. · Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write persuasively. · Excellent organizational, time management, and partnership-building skills. · Proficiency with donor database systems, social media, and Microsoft Office Suite.
