Academic Director, Business and Leadership & Organizational Studies
Bay Path University is a private comprehensive university committed to providing a practical and career-focused education. This position reports to the Dean of the School of Management & Technology and oversees the online undergraduate Business and Leadership & Organizational Studies programs.
Job Summary The Academic Director leads program development, curriculum design, faculty management, and student success for the accelerated online undergraduate programs. The director teaches a minimum of two 3‑credit courses each fiscal year.
Essential Job Functions
Program Oversight
– Continuously oversee the online undergraduate degree programs, manage course schedules, and conduct yearly assessment of student learning outcomes.
Faculty Development
– Recruit, hire, onboard, and supervise adjunct faculty; conduct regular faculty assessments and provide mentoring and professional development.
Curricular Resource Management
– Lead development and revision of courses, collaborate with instructional design staff, and identify OER and accessible learning resources.
Partnership Building
– Provide university leadership for third‑party educational partnerships and develop ideas for enrollment partnerships.
Student Support
– Provide clear pathways to success, engage with students through office hours and webinars, troubleshoot complaints, and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
Additional Duties
– Teach a minimum of two 3‑credit courses per year, attend university events, and perform any other duties assigned by the university.
Qualifications
Master’s degree required; a doctorate or terminal degree preferred in Business, Organizational Leadership, Management, or a related field.
Proven experience in curriculum development, online teaching, and program management.
Familiarity with online teaching pedagogy and technology.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage faculty and collaborate across departments.
Strong analytical and decision‑making skills, with a commitment to using data for continuous improvement.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
Ability to adhere to university policies and procedures, and handle confidential information with discretion under FERPA and HIPAA guidelines.
