Position Available: Senior Architect for Educational Projects
Overview:
A nationally recognized ENR-100 firm is looking for an experienced and licensed Architect with strong design and technical skills to join their team. This role involves managing project documentation, resources, and assignments efficiently. The ideal candidate will mentor staff and embody the values and mission of the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead consultants and technical teams to ensure effective project design execution and document delivery.
Collaborate with project leaders to develop and manage production schedules, ensuring deadlines are met.
Prepare, review, and coordinate project documents, ensuring they meet quality standards and best practices.
Manage technical resolution and coordination for specific project segments.
Conduct code analysis and ensure compliance with zoning and code requirements.
Facilitate design group interactions and lead consultant team work sessions.
Coordinate with project managers, clients, public agencies, consultants, and contractors to integrate engineering systems and respond to requests for information.
Prepare and present client presentations and design concepts.
Conduct product research and assist in material and system selection.
Oversee the application of products and materials according to best practices.
Lead team meetings to discuss project and technical issues.
Attend site visits, field reviews, and project meetings, documenting as necessary.
Prepare and review meeting minutes for consultant coordination meetings.
Invest in staff development through mentoring, performance management, and career planning.
Recruit and develop diverse talent.
Resolve conflicts and promote a healthy team environment.
Advocate for sustainable design practices and integrate them into project designs.
Understand basic accounting principles and project accounting processes.
Collaborate on delivering projects within budget requirements.
Maintain accountability to project plans and utilization rates.
Recognize and manage additional service needs.
Participate in business development by identifying new opportunities and assisting with proposals, budgets, and schedules.
Qualifications:
Professional degree in Architecture.
Minimum of 8 years of experience.
Proficiency in Revit and other architectural software such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, and 3D modeling software.
Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, and InDesign preferred.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Strong knowledge of sustainability and integrated design guidelines.
Advanced knowledge of architectural building systems, accessibility guidelines, and QA/QC processes.
Advanced knowledge of building codes and the ability to incorporate them into project documents.
Strong presentation and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to maintain and build client relationships.
Clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
