Sr Electrical Engineer
Job Description
Design and qualify new designs to applicable regulatory standards such as UL, CEC, CE, and ANSI.
Use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, e-loads, and data acquisition systems.
Execute a lead role for the design, prototype, test, and troubleshoot of embedded electronics hardware and firmware for mid to high complexity projects.
Lead the development of test plans/procedures and test cases for new product embedded systems and subsystems development.
Provide candid and effective communications up, down, and across the organization on progress, barrier removal, and escalation of business risks/opportunities.
Drive urgency and accountability in project schedules to establish and achieve key project metrics that meet the organization’s needs.
Serve as a role model of company's culture while mentoring, guiding, and coaching junior Engineers. Grow the ability to lead and manage a small team.
Independently track projects to ensure adherence to schedule and the company process.
Demonstrate company culture of high performance and agility by independently creating Work Breakdown Structure for your work and driving to critical milestones.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field, or foreign degree equivalent, and 5 years of progressively more responsible relevant experience as an Electrical Engineer, or alternate related acceptable occupation;
OR
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field, or foreign degree equivalent, and 2 years of relevant experience as an Electrical Engineer, or alternate related acceptable occupation.
Work or academic experience must have included:
C programming and related development tools and processes relating to microcontroller peripherals
Analog/digital system tradeoffs and design relating to signal integrity, noise analysis, and margin considerations
Lithium-Ion Battery Management strategies & circuits
Power electronics circuit design and control
Schematic capture, PCB layout software, SPICE, and industry best practices
Digital circuits and interaction between firmware and electronics
10% of domestic and international travel required.
