Lead and oversee design teams for hydraulic tunnel engineering and trenchless projects across the Central and West Regions. Manage project delivery risk, participate in go/no‑go processes, and support HDR’s risk awareness of the WBG tunneling portfolio. Advising on alternatives analyses, feasibility studies, and review of alternatives related to tunnels. Scope and vet subcontractors, verify qualifications of field staff, and oversee quality assurance activities. Enhance HDR’s capabilities regarding tunnel construction and trenchless technologies, including SEM and NATM. Collaborate with HDR’s WBG Tunnel Practice Lead and the Geotechnical Cross‑Sector team. Provide cost engineering support and numerical modeling for tunnel projects. Support construction engineering, inspections, and condition assessments. Qualifications – Preferred
Master’s degree in engineering or related field. 10 years related experience, 5+ years project management experience, and a professional engineering license (PE). Extensive experience in U.S. focused tunneling design and construction, rock mechanics, soil mechanics, and geotechnical engineering. Strong marketing, business development, and client‑relationship skills. Proficiency in numerical analysis software (FLAC, UDEC, PHASES2, PLAXIS, MODFLOW, etc.). Qualifications – Required
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Professional engineering license recognized by the state of location. MS Office and MS Project experience. Demonstrated leadership, business development, and strategic planning skills. Benefits
