Construction Estimator
The Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate bids and estimates for multi‑site multifamily and commercial construction of new builds and remodels, typically ranging from $2M – $30M. The role includes detailed quantity take‑offs using PlanSwift/Blue Beam, managing data input, product research, and sourcing subcontractors. The estimator verifies and negotiates project scopes, identifies cost‑saving opportunities, maintains communication with project management and operations teams, and contributes to ELITE Construction’s growing portfolio. Key Responsibilities
Represent ELITE with clients, subcontractors, architects, and engineers; manage relationships. Analyze construction plans, specifications, MEP systems, takeoffs, and blueprints to develop precise estimates. Estimate assigned jobs within the required timeline with a 20–30% profit margin for each line item. Verify scope, cost, and timeline accuracy; identify cost‑saving opportunities. Ensure proper scope and subcontract values with the pre‑construction team. Assist with pre‑construction documentation (ITBs, SOWs, SOVs, RFIs, COs, submittals). Expand the subcontractor database; ensure 5–10 qualified subcontractors per market. Collaborate with Project Managers to review and refine estimates before submission. Maintain clear and organized communication with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients. Contribute to pre‑construction planning and budgeting and develop pricing benchmarks. Keep an updated log of project estimates and track progress. Address estimation‑related questions quickly and resolve discrepancies with stakeholders. Prepare and deliver precise proposals within designated dollar thresholds. Proactively identify and resolve concerns; maintain open communication with internal teams and clients. Engage in company and industry training sessions to stay informed on best practices and emerging trends. Capabilities / Key Competencies
Strong analytical and numerical skills; accuracy in estimating and cost analysis. Proficiency in PlanSwift, Sage, Microsoft Office, and ConstructConnect. Thorough understanding of construction plans, MEP drawings, and specifications. Experience with multifamily and commercial construction, including renovations and ground‑up projects. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Effective communication and collaboration abilities. Detail‑oriented and proactive approach to cost efficiencies and risk mitigation. Physical Requirements
In‑office work week. Periodic visits to construction sites. Travel as needed to local and statewide projects, events, and client meetings. Schedule
40‑hour workweek; office hours Monday through Friday 8:30 am–5:30 pm. Employment Type
