Staff Product Manager – PHEV Driving Experience

This role is hybrid. The successful candidate is expected to report to a designated location at least three times per week.
About the Role:
As the Staff Product Manager for PHEV Driving Experience, you will define and lead the vision for how customers engage with our plug‑in hybrid electric vehicles. Your mission is to make the PHEV ownership journey seamless, intuitive, and rewarding from initial interaction through long‑term use. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams including engineering, design, UX, research, and regulatory to deliver experiences that are functional, compliant, and emotionally resonant.
What You’ll Do
Own the end‑to‑end PHEV experience strategy and roadmap, from initial customer onboarding to daily use including displays, modes, and integration of the systems.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with Legal, Engineering, Design, and Marketing to deliver intuitive, compliant, and differentiated experiences.
Leverage data and research to understand customer pain points and opportunities, using insights to drive feature development and continuous improvement.
Champion a user‑centric approach to PHEV displays, energy management, and integration ensuring customers feel in control and confident in their vehicle’s capabilities.
Track and report key experience metrics, including customer satisfaction, feature engagement, and energy efficiency outcomes.
Required Qualifications
B.S. in a technical discipline (Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field).
5+ years of experience working on technology‑powered products.
3+ years of experience managing complex automotive software and hardware products.
Demonstrated ability to balance trade‑offs among consumer needs, legal/regulatory requirements, and business objectives.
Proven problem‑solving skills with multiple constraints, using sound judgment and data‑informed arguments.
Strong communication and storytelling skills, able to articulate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
Preferred (Competitive) Skills
M.S. in Engineering or Business.
3+ years of experience in Product Management.
3+ years of experience with Embedded Software, Controls or Vehicle Integration.
Deep knowledge of product development lifecycle and program execution.
Industry expertise in driver controls and interface technologies.
Past experience with ICE, PHEV, and EV propulsion systems.
