Dynatrace Monitoring Architect – Location: Columbus OH / Remote – Experience: 8-12 years – Skills: Dynatrace, RUM, Synthetic, APM, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, ITIL, SRE, AIOps practices
Key Responsibilities
Define and own the observability strategy using Dynatrace as the core platform, integrating with existing IT monitoring ecosystems.
Design and implement end-to-end monitoring architectures across applications, microservices, APIs, databases, infrastructure, and cloud workloads.
Architect service flow mapping, distributed tracing, real-user monitoring (RUM), and synthetic monitoring frameworks.
Enable AI-driven root cause analysis (RCA), anomaly detection, and self-healing automation through Dynatrace and its ecosystem.
Collaborate with enterprise architects, DevOps, SREs, and application teams to embed observability in CI / CD pipelines.
Drive instrumentation best practices for logs, metrics, and traces following Open Telemetry (OTel) and other open standards.
Establish dashboards, service-level objectives (SLOs), and key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with business outcomes.
Provide technical leadership, governance, and roadmap planning for observability adoption across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
Act as a Dynatrace subject matter expert (SME), mentoring teams and influencing observability maturity.
Required Skills & Experience
8–12 years of IT experience with at least 4+ years in Observability / Monitoring architecture.
Hands-on expertise in Dynatrace deployment, configuration, and architecture (App Monitoring, Infra Monitoring, RUM, Synthetic, APM).
Strong understanding of application architectures : microservices, containers (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker), APIs, cloud-native apps.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid / on-premises integrations.
Knowledge of ITIL, SRE, and AIOps practices with a focus on proactive incident management and RCA.
Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, ELK / EFK stack, Grafana, ServiceNow integration is a plus.
Proven ability to architect dashboards and service-level indicators (SLIs / SLOs) mapped to business KPIs.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Certifications
Dynatrace Certified Professional / Associate / Master certification
Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP)
ITIL Foundation / SRE Foundation
