The Lead CNC Programmer will be responsible for creating, optimizing, and managing multi-axis CNC programs (3, 4, and 5 axis) for aerospace components. The role works closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure efficient and accurate machining processes that meet tight tolerances and industry standards.

Duties:

Develop and optimize CNC programs for 3, 4, and 5-axis milling and turning centers using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, NX, or equivalent).

Interpret complex aerospace engineering drawings, models, and GD&T to generate precise tool paths.

Select appropriate tooling, fixturing, and machining strategies for each job.

Collaborate with machinists and setup personnel to ensure smooth job execution and troubleshoot any issues on the shop floor.

Standardize programming practices and document best methods for repeatability and process improvement.

Lead programming efforts on new product introductions and prototyping.

Train and mentor junior programmers and machinists.

Work with estimating and planning teams to provide cycle time estimates and input on manufacturability.

Support continuous improvement initiatives related to machining efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of experience programming multi-axis CNC machines in a high-precision environment (aerospace preferred).

Expert-level proficiency with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, NX, or similar).

Strong understanding of G-code, post-processors, and CNC machine operations.

Deep knowledge of multi-axis machining principles, tooling, and workholding strategies.

Ability to read and interpret complex aerospace blueprints, 3D models, and GD&T.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Experience with AS9100 or other aerospace quality standards is a plus.

Experience:

Multi Axis CNC Machine: 5 years (Required)

CAM Software: 5 years (Required)

Aerospace Blueprint reading: 5 years (Required)

GD&T Interpretation: 5 years (Required)

Location:

Norwalk, CA (Relocate before starting work)

Benefits: Health insurance.

Compensation: Full-time, $45.00 - $50.00 per hour.
