Job Summary We are currently seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to join the Enterprise Cloud Adoption team within Caterpillar Information Technology Division to support IaaS workloads.

What You Will Do

Deploy Azure cloud technologies based on requirements gathered from business partners using PowerShell, ARM templates, Azure CLI, VBS, Python, Java, NodeJS, JSON, YAML, Bash, Azure Portal, CI/CD Pipelines, Azure DevOps, and GitHub.

Provision, scale, and secure virtual machines, manage VM images, extensions, and availability zones.

Configure networking: VNets, NSGs, Load Balancers, VPN Gateway, DNS, routing, and hybrid connectivity (ExpressRoute).

Deploy storage solutions: Blob, Disk, File storage, performance tiers, replication, and lifecycle policies.

Enable monitoring and logging with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.

Manage security and vulnerability: RBAC, Managed Identities, Key Vault, and policy enforcement.

Backup and disaster recovery: Backup, Site Recovery, and geo‑redundancy.

Assist customers with documentation, training, and usability efforts.

What You Have

Perform all programming, project management, and development/deployment assignments without close supervision; normally assigned the more complex aspects of systems work.

Act as a lead for development and support groups; provide programming and Infrastructure technology leadership, guidance, and assistance to other team members.

Work directly on complex technical problem identification and resolution, including responding to off‑shift and weekend support calls.

Work independently on complex infrastructure technology components used by one or more applications or systems.

Deploy or integrate infrastructure technology components based on requirements gathered from customers.

Perform integrated testing and customer acceptance testing of components that require careful planning and execution to ensure timely, quality results.

Be fully knowledgeable of relevant programming languages, program design and specification development, programming logic, logic diagrams, system analysis techniques, testing, debugging, documentation standards, file design, storage and internal systems, cross‑platform infrastructure components; provide training on these topics for others.

Top Candidates Will Also Have

7+ years in infrastructure operations or applications development, with emphasis in networking, DNS, application services, security, distributed computing, databases, and storage.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related Information Technology degree.

Azure Certifications AZ‑900, AZ‑104, AZ‑500.

Experience developing or implementing architectural designs (Logical Technical Architecture) processes and procedures.

Experience using the Agile methodology.

Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, specifically Azure DevOps (Microsoft VSTS).

Experience with technical leadership or lead developer role with practical experience in cloud computing, architecture work, systems or application design, and development.

Experience working with IT security on infrastructure or applications security compliance and security vulnerability remediation activities.

Strong verbal and written communication (English); teamwork, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

Strong problem solving and customer service skills.

Additional Info

The ideal location for this role is East Peoria – IL, Irving – TX, Nashville – TN.

This position requires the employee to work a 5‑day‑a‑week schedule in the office.

This position may require 10% travel.
