Senior Management Analyst I – SES at Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission located in Tallahassee, FL.
Position Overview The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission manages fish and wildlife resources for long‑term well‑being. This role works closely with the Chief Budget Officer to identify administrative problems impacting fiscal, purchasing, or property management and recommend solutions.
Responsibilities
Prepare, analyze, and monitor internal operating and Fixed Capital Outlay (FCO) budgets for assigned sections; provide timely monthly budget summary reports and budget amendments.
Coordinate with sections on budget related needs and oversee allotments, reconciliation, and quality control.
Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, organize and prioritize workload to meet assignment deadlines.
Conduct regular meetings with divisional staff to review spending levels and ensure sufficient budget levels.
Monitor and assist in managing grant programs and contractual services; review grant cost sheets for accuracy.
Collaborate with the Office of Finance and Budget on all division budget matters and provide requested information in acceptable format.
Support agency‑level efforts to coordinate and improve administrative, operational, and planning activities; lead and work on interdivisional teams as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
At least four (4) years of verifiable related experience.
Post‑secondary degree may be used as an alternative for the required years of experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Two (2) years of state budgeting, grants, or contract experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to assess budgetary needs and formulate policies and procedures.
Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures related to operational and management analysis activities.
Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments; communicate in writing and verbally effectively; work independently; solve problems and make decisions; establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
