Our Client is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to develop, implement, and manage company-wide safety programs across their growing network of auction warehouse facilities. The role focuses on ensuring regulatory compliance, minimizing risk, and fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across all locations.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS policies, procedures, and programs tailored to warehouse and reverse logistics operations. Evaluate and expand upon current program to ensure sufficient requirements coverage.

Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other federal, state, and local regulations.

Develop a scalable and repeatable incident investigation process, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning for accidents, near-misses, and environmental events.

Design and deliver safety training programs (e.g., forklift operation, PPE usage, hazard communication, lockout/tagout) in accordance with Human Resources learning & development strategy.

Maintain all required safety records, logs, and documentation for internal and regulatory reporting.

Ensure proper handling, labeling, and disposal of hazardous materials and compliance with HAZMAT requirements.

Analyze trends in safety metrics (injuries, near misses, worker's comp claims) and develop strategies to mitigate future risk.

Partner with HR and workers' compensation insurance providers to develop and implement innovative programs aimed at reducing injury rates and lowering EMOD scores, thereby decreasing insurance premiums and business costs.

Implement behavioral safety programs and engage frontline associates in proactive safety practices; facilitate and manage safety committees across all sites, ensuring regular monthly activity, detailed note-taking, and action planning & execution.

Manage ergonomic assessments, injury prevention plans, and return-to-work programs in collaboration with HR.

Partner with Operations leaders, HR, and Facilities teams to integrate safety standards into workflows and SOPs.

Serve as the company's main liaison during inspections or audits by OSHA or other regulatory bodies and maintain detailed records of all regulatory interactions.

Support the onboarding of new facilities with initial safety assessments, training rollout, and hazard mitigation planning.

Develop and test emergency response plans, fire safety protocols, and evacuation procedures at each site.

Coordinate with local emergency services and maintain relationships with relevant regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety leadership role, preferably in warehousing, distribution, logistics, or manufacturing.

Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.

Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CHMM, or OSHA 30 preferred.

Key Competencies

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.

Excellent communication and training abilities – capable of engaging all levels of the organization.

Able to travel to multiple facilities as needed (up to 50% travel).

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with EHS management systems a plus.
