We are currently seeking a detail-oriented, reliable, and patient-focused Procedure Prior Authorization Specialist to join our administrative team in Holly Springs, NC. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring patients receive timely and appropriate care by managing prior authorizations for procedures, imaging and medications as well as conducting insurance verifications. The ideal candidate will have a positive, upbeat personality and support our team in fostering a welcoming and efficient environment for patients and staff alike. Key Responsibilities:
Obtain, review, and submit prior authorizations for diagnostic imaging (including MRIs), in-office and outpatient pain procedures and medications.
Verify insurance coverage and eligibility, including Medicare and Medicaid, and interpret benefit information for both patients and staff.
Navigate and utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems (eClinicalWorks) to accurately document and retrieve insurance and patient information.
Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely scheduling of procedures and appointments.
Handle appeals and denials processes with insurance providers, demonstrating persistence and advocacy for patient care.
Provide courteous and professional phone and in-person communication with patients regarding authorizations, benefits, and billing inquiries.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 1 year experience in medical office procedure prior authorizations and insurance verifications.
Experience in pain management or a specialty practice is strongly preferred.
At least 1 year of hands-on experience using EMR systems.
Strong working knowledge of medical terminology, CPT codes, and various insurance plans.

Occasional travel to Apex and Knightdale locations for coverage support may be required.
