Our client is the New York‑based Commercial Real Estate Finance group within the investment bank of a premier European‑global financial services institution. Their real estate group is consistently ranked among the top‑10 global and US CMBS bookrunners and is expanding into new products, including a budding balance sheet lending program.
Essential Job Functions
Responsible for significant facets of securitization of commercial real estate loans, including review of Pooling and Servicing Agreements and offering memoranda, review of intercreditor agreements relating to mezzanine loans and other sub‑debt and participation agreements.
Prepare loan files, legal documents, asset summary reports, third‑party reports, schedules, and data tapes for B‑piece investor and rating agency due diligence review of CMBS securitized transactions.
Work with securitization counsel on large loan summaries, risk factor collateral disclosures, and rep exceptions for prospectus supplements.
Participate in presentations and discussions with B‑piece investors and rating agencies regarding loan structure, sponsorship, legal, property, market, and underwriting issues.
Facilitate responses to investor and rating agency Q&A and coordinate follow‑up calls.
Coordinate ongoing dialog with rating agencies, accountants, B buyers and clients.
Aid in the preparation of materials for critical internal and external initiatives, on an ad‑hoc basis.
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.
7‑10 years’ experience in CMBS related work at an accounting firm, or a similar role at another large bank. Undergraduates with relevant coursework and/or internship experience will be considered.
Understanding of real estate and securitization concepts and terminology.
Familiarity with securitization offering documents (Securitization Term Sheets, OC/OMs, etc.), mortgage loan legal documents including third‑party reports (Appraisals, PCAs, ESAs, etc.) is appreciated.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience managing large spreadsheets and data tapes.
Ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, demanding environment.
The annual full‑time base salary range for this role is
$200,000.00 – $225,000.00 . Payroll, benefits, and additional compensation details are discussed during the interview process.
