Enterprise Security Architect – Overview

What You Will Do
Review current security architecture and lead architecture decisions with technology and business stakeholders.
Ensure Okta’s security strategy aligns with business objectives and is regularly reviewed for effectiveness.
Design secure, scalable, high‑performance solutions incorporating security best practices from the outset.
Contribute to risk assessment and threat‑model development, developing mitigations through appropriate security mechanisms.
Research new services, controls, or emerging security technologies and engage with third‑party partners for strategic initiatives.
Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to assess and explain risks, threats, and exploits to enable risk‑informed decisions.
Communicate Okta’s enterprise security architecture and direction, reporting on security status across the organization.
Establish security metrics and KPIs to identify areas for maturity and improvement.
What You Bring
10+ years of experience in information security with focus on security architecture, enterprise systems, infrastructure, and secure application design.
Proficiency in security frameworks and standards (NIST, ISO 27001, PCI; FedRAMP preferred).
Strong knowledge of cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Experience with security tools and technologies (SASE, EDR/XDR, CASB, DLP).
Excellent communication, collaboration, and executive presentation skills.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA highly desired.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, or related field (Master’s preferred).
A growth mindset and willingness to learn and continuously improve.

Salary and Location Base salary ranges: • San Francisco Bay Area – $231,000 – $347,000 USD. • Other locations in California (excluding Bay Area), Colorado, New York, and Washington – $206,000 – $310,000 USD.
Position may be located anywhere in the USA.
