Position Summary The Campus Dean serves as the academic leader for Avila University’s Goodyear, Arizona location. This role is responsible for the oversight of academic program delivery, local faculty supervision, collection of assessment data, and resolution of academic‑related student and faculty matters. The Campus Dean ensures compliance with university policies, accreditation requirements, and program quality standards, while also facilitating faculty professional development and fostering collaboration across academic and operational teams at the site. Position based on‑site at Avila University’s Goodyear, AZ location while occasional travel to Kansas City campus or other Avila partner sites may be required.

Responsibilities

Provide operational and academic leadership for all Avila University programs offered at the Goodyear location.

Supervise, support, and evaluate faculty assigned to the site; facilitate orientation, mentoring, and ongoing professional development.

Ensure accurate and timely collection of course and program‑level assessment data; coordinate with the main campus on accreditation and reporting requirements.

Address academic issues including student concerns, academic misconduct, or faculty challenges, in alignment with University policy.

Collaborate with academic advisors and the Operations Director to enhance the student experience and ensure consistent academic support.

Monitor instructional quality and promote continuous improvement in teaching and learning practices.

Serve as the primary academic liaison between the Goodyear campus and the Kansas City main campus.

Promote a collaborative and inclusive academic environment aligned with Avila University’s mission and values.

Direct supervision of faculty teaching at the Goodyear site.

Collaboration with academic advisors and operations staff; no direct supervisory responsibility for these positions, but close coordination is required.

Represent Avila University to local and regional supporters, partners, and stakeholders.

Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Earned doctoral or terminal degree from an accredited institution.

Minimum of five (5) years higher education experience, including teaching and leadership responsibilities.

Prior experience in academic administration at a branch or additional location preferred.

Background in adult or graduate education with knowledge of innovative program delivery models preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of assessment, accreditation, and instructional quality assurance.

Experience in faculty supervision and performance management.

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Demonstrated success facilitating faculty professional development.

Experience working collaboratively across academic and operational units.

Demonstrated ability to foster diversity and promote a collegial and constructive environment based on open communication, team building, and effective management.

Multilingual skills highly preferred.

Ability to contribute to a climate that supports a diverse student body, serves first‑generation college students, multilingual learners, and contributions to equity and social justice through their work.
