About The Role This is a key opportunity in R&D for WATCHMAN within the BSC’s Cardiology division. WATCHMAN continues to be an exciting growth driver for BSC. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a blend of technical knowledge, hands‑on problem solving, data‑driven decision making, and technical communication. This role will develop next‑generation products so BSC can deliver life‑changing medical devices to patients and clinicians in support of BSC’s mission.

Work Mode At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows an onsite work model, requiring employees to be present in our Maple Grove, MN office, at least four to five days per week.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

Serving as a key R&D team member for the development of a next‑generation access sheath.

Developing and/or improving test methods.

Preparing and executing test method validations in collaboration with design assurance.

Design & execution of structured experimental plans to drive data‑based decisions.

Providing clear communication to stakeholders at key technical updates.

Understanding clinical use cases and user interface requirements to drive design decisions.

Working cooperatively with process development, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, and marketing on complex projects to ensure project success.

Training and/or provide work directions to technicians.

Documenting development by writing documents, reports, memos, change requests.

Contributing to solving engineering problems by analyzing the situation and recommending solutions or alternative actions.

Analyzing, evaluating, and verifying requirements, component performance, and systems by using engineering practices.

In all actions, demonstrating a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with all documented quality processes and procedures.

Required Qualifications

BS in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.

3+ years of engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree.

SolidWorks experience.

Test method development experience.

Strong mechanical engineering and problem‑solving skills.

New product development experience in access sheaths and delivery systems.

Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on technical inputs from multiple and varied sources.

Candidates should be self‑starters and have a hands‑on approach.

Must work Onsite at our Maple Grove, MN location.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience interacting with physicians and customers in product design.

Experience in clinical field support.

Strong written and verbal communication, judgment, decision‑making, and critical thinking skills.

Experience in design control, risk management, and DV/DVAL execution.

Experience in all stages of the PDP (Product Development) lifecycle.

Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
