Guidehouse
Guidehouse is seeking an Journeyman Data Scientist to join our AI and Data Defense and Security team. The individual will develop data collection and process automation solutions, collect and analyze data to identify trends, develop visualizations in support of organizational and mission goals, and support decision‑making for large‑scale programs within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Responsibilities
Lead design and development of process improvement and automation applications using Power Automate and PowerApps.
Lead design and development of data visualization and dashboard solutions using Power BI.
Lead and review data cleaning scripts using R.
Author SQL queries to extract tables.
Identify and create additional data visualization capabilities as needed.
Ensure data governance and quality assurance standards are met.
Analyze current processes and identify potential improvements.
Work with team members to summarize and report on business process improvements, including gaps and initiatives to improve processes.
Organize and lead client meetings: scheduling, drafting agendas and minutes, archiving documentation, tracking action items.
Summarize and present information and reports to the team and make recommendations.
Qualifications
US citizenship required.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum three years experience in data science, data analytics, or data visualization.
Nice to Have
Experience leading teams focused on developing automation, process improvement, and analytic solutions.
Quality control experience, including debugging and conducting QA of new features and enhancements.
Experience with data architecture and warehousing.
Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time‑management abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
Experience developing and redesigning processes to meet evolving business requirements.
Ability to provide guidance and direction for specific projects or sub‑tasks.
Capability to manage multi‑task projects.
Experience analyzing and defining system requirements.
Ability to facilitate meetings and present topics to diverse groups of functional and technical staff.
Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
