Position Summary

Perforce is searching for a Professional Services Engineer to join the P4 team. The role requires strong foundational technical skills and a desire to develop expertise in enterprise version control solutions. Prior experience with P4 or other enterprise version control systems is strongly preferred. The position supports global enterprise clients across diverse industries, offering opportunities to learn P4 administration, availability management, security frameworks, performance optimization, and development workflow design while mentored by senior consultants. Responsibilities

Design and implement comprehensive P4 availability management solutions including backup/recovery procedures, checkpoint strategies, high-availability replication, and disaster recovery planning. Architect security and compliance frameworks, implementing P4 protections, authentication systems, encryption, audit logging, and CVE response procedures. Assess performance and implement scalability solutions for large-scale P4 environments supporting thousands of users and terabytes of data. Configure development workflows including P4 Streams implementations, classic branching strategies, code review processes, and governance controls. Integrate P4 with CI/CD pipelines, build systems, defect tracking tools, and digital asset management platforms. Establish monitoring, alerting, and root cause analysis procedures for proactive P4 environment management. Lead technical workshops on P4 best practices covering security, performance optimization, and operational domains. Develop custom automation scripts and P4 extensions while maintaining proper governance and documentation standards. Provide troubleshooting support for performance, security, and integration challenges under senior guidance. Create comprehensive operational procedures and documentation for client P4 environments. Support sales teams on technical pre‑sales activities and proof‑of‑concept implementations. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent professional experience. 2–4 years of professional experience in system administration, software development, or technical consulting. Hands‑on experience with Windows and Linux system administration, including user management, file systems, networking, and service configuration. Practical experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including virtual machine deployment, storage configuration, and network setup. Demonstrated ability in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar scripting languages for automation and system management tasks. Understanding of database concepts, backup/recovery procedures, and basic SQL knowledge. Familiarity with version control concepts and experience with Git, SVN, or similar systems. Hands‑on experience with DevOps tools, CI/CD pipeline implementation, and management. Experience in technical support, consulting, or customer‑facing roles with strong communication abilities. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication skills for explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences. Self‑motivated learner with enthusiasm for mastering new technologies and platforms. Preferred

Experience with P4 backup/recovery, checkpoint management, high‑availability replication, or disaster recovery planning. Knowledge of P4 protections table, authentication systems, encryption, audit logging, or regulatory compliance requirements. Experience optimizing P4 performance, implementing scalability solutions, or capacity planning. Familiarity with P4 Streams, classic branching strategies, code review workflows, or governance controls. Experience with P4 integrations, P4DAM, P4DTG, custom scripting, or third‑party system connectivity. Experience with enterprise monitoring tools and alerting systems. Perforce certifications or advanced P4 training completion. Benefits
