Job Description
Responsible for overseeing and executing daily shipping and receiving operations within the warehouse. This role ensures that all outbound and inbound freight is processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards. The coordinator serves as a key point of contact between warehouse staff, carriers, and internal teams, helping to maintain smooth logistics flow and resolve any operational issues. In addition to managing documentation and freight movement, the Shipping Warehouse Coordinator supports inventory control, leads process improvements, and ensures a safe and organized work environment. This role also involves training team members, maintaining performance metrics, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.
Qualifications: Qualifications
Task and Duties
Coordinate, verify, and document all inbound and outbound shipments; load and unload trucks safely, inspecting freight for label accuracy and damage.
Ensure regulatory compliance (DG/Lithium if certified), maintain SOPs, and support safety audits, cleaning and organization programs.
Assign docks, check in drivers, and handle ULD build/breakdown as necessary.
Lead daily meetings, communicate priorities, train team members, and act as liaison with staff and external contacts to resolve issues.
Maintain accurate inventory and shipment records, perform cycle counts, and resolve discrepancies or damages promptly.
Monitor key metrics, meet KPIs, and drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency.
Escalate operational issues and perform other assigned duties as needed.
Physical Demands
Use of standard office equipment - computer with keyboard and mouse, phone, fax/copy/scan machine, etc.
Write with pencil/pen/marker
Functions performed primarily while seated at desk and driving Forklift Truck.
Ability to walk throughout the warehouse as needed
Qualifications:
3+ years of related industry experience
Good Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word etc.)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills, time management skills in addition to a professional manner
A proven history of providing exceptional customer service at all levels
Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
