Overview The Assistant Vice President, Acute IT&S Operations provides strategic and operational leadership for IT services across acute care facilities within the healthcare enterprise. Reporting to the Vice President, Chief Security & Privacy Officer, this role ensures alignment of IT operations with clinical and business objectives while promoting technology enablement and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
IT Strategy & Regional Leadership
Serve as the senior IT leader for a specific number of acute care facilities, accountable for delivery of IT governance and services across assigned hospitals.
Align acute IT strategy with enterprise objectives, clinical operations, and local leadership priorities.
Meet regularly with facility Directors of IS, CFOs, CNOs, and CEOs to review IT performance, ITS strategy, local facility strategy, prioritize initiatives, and provide strategic updates.
Operations & Service Management
Oversee day-to-day IT facility operations, ensuring consistent service delivery and issue resolution across facilities.
Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including service desk metrics, system availability, and project progress.
Lead the preparation and delivery of monthly operating reports (MORs) for facility ITS operations to senior leadership, highlighting performance trends, risk areas, and strategic initiatives.
Program & Project Leadership
Lead execution of acute-focused ITS projects including infrastructure refreshes, application rollouts, and facility transitions.
Work with local facility ITS leadership to obtain alignment with corporate ITS projects and risk compliance.
Partner with PMO and solution teams to manage timelines, budgets, and stakeholder engagement.
Team Leadership & Development
Directly manage and develop facility-based IT leaders, fostering a high-performing, customer-centric culture.
Support talent planning, succession development, and performance management within the acute ITS team.
Promote continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and innovation across the team.
Financial & Vendor Oversight
Partner with finance leaders on IT budget planning, tracking, and optimization.
Oversee vendor performance for local IT services, ensuring value delivery, compliance, and cost control.
Support enterprise sourcing strategies through vendor engagement and contract input.

Qualifications
Applicants should have a minimum 5 years of progressive IT leadership experience with at least 3 years supporting multi-site or acute care healthcare organizations preferred.
Proven success leading IT support teams, executive communications, and enterprise alignment initiatives preferred.
Experience in IT governance, service delivery, and executive reporting preferred.
Education
Bachelor's degree in information technology, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred.
Knowledge
Strong understanding of IT service management frameworks (ITIL), KPIs, infrastructure operations, and clinical applications (e.g., EHRs).
Knowledge of ServiceNow reporting capabilities to extract insights, track trends, and monitor service delivery performance.
Familiarity with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, HITECH) and clinical workflows.
Knowledge of budgeting, vendor management, and risk management practices.
Certifications
Preferred certifications include ITIL, PMP, CHCIO, or equivalent.
