The Manager of NPI and Quality for Pro Audio will be a core member and key contributor to the global operations and will lead new product introduction and quality initiatives that span global operations. This individual will manage complex projects from developing strategy, implementing plans, and leading execution to drive operational effectiveness.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

Serve as the primary quality contact for customer escalations, warranty issues, and field failures. Collaborate with Customer Service, Engineering, and Operations to ensure timely resolutions and drive systemic improvements across the value chain.

Lead quality improvement initiatives across internal assembly and external contract manufacturing. Analyze defect and yield data from production and field returns to identify trends and implement preventive measures.

Establish and maintain KPIs for customer returns, warranty costs, field failure rates, production yield, and defect escapes. Present quality performance updates, risk assessments, and continuous improvement plans to senior leadership.

Oversee global NPI efforts, including teams in Hong Kong and China, to ensure new product programs meet timelines, cost targets, and quality standards.

Assess and manage risks associated with program activities, guide NPI team members to ensure adequate support and oversight, and ensure use of problem-solving and process tools (e.g., FMEA, DFM, DFT) in development.

Analyze supplier capabilities to enhance design, reduce non-conformances, lower costs, and maximize capacity.

Provide technical leadership to ensure product designs and implementations meet or exceed QSC quality standards.

Participate in design, planning, and execution of product and process qualification activities.

Deliver qualification risk assessments and status updates to program teams.

Direct and coordinate QA, manufacturing, test engineering, and service activities, along with other functions impacting product development and quality.

Preferred Skills and Experience

BSME/BSEE or equivalent work experience.

10+ years work experience related to electronics manufacturing, automated test development for electronics, and new product introduction processes.

Prior involvement in new product launches, including validation builds, production transfers, or production line setups.

Hands‑on familiarity with PCBA, mechanical assemblies, and cross‑functional product development or manufacturing teams.

Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems, PFMEA, control plans, and quality inspection techniques.

Effective at relationship building with international manufacturing facilities/companies.

Must have well‑developed oral and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills as an influencer and team player.

Ability to determine risk/benefit scenarios and make vs‑buy decisions.

Familiarity with quality tools and systems such as SPC, First Article Inspections (FAI), and FMEA.

Ability to analyze and interpret yield, test, and field return data to drive actionable quality improvements.

Excellent knowledge of business processes and models.

Experience with ERP, QMS, and PLM systems (e.g., Oracle, Agile, JIRA, Confluence).

Other

International travel required for product launches and implementations (10%).

Salary range: $114,600.00 to $206,300.00. Acuity offers generous benefits including health care, dental, vision, 401(k), and incentive compensation.
